Office of Research and Sponsored Programs

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs supports Mercer faculty, staff, and students to improve the research mission of the university. Assistance is provided through allocation of internal funding , coordination of external grant support, and expertise on policy and regulatory compliance.

The ORSP includes Sponsored Programs (pre-award and post-award), Research Compliance, and Undergraduate Research.

Sponsored Programs

The Office of Sponsored Programs is the administrative office that oversees the grant processes and provides support to faculty regarding external-funding activities. It provides information to faculty regarding funding opportunities, external grant submission processes, and research policies. The office assists faculty in all aspects of the pre-award grants process and manages post-award grants administration. All activities sponsored by external agencies should be directed to the ORSP, including proposals and awards in support of research, instruction, training, and community service projects.

Research Compliance

The Office of Research Compliance provides support and training for the research community at all Mercer University campuses and other satellite sites. The office promotes the responsible conduct of research investigations and affirms its commitment to the ethical conduct of Mercer's faculty, students, and affiliated staff by adhering to all applicable policies, procedures, guidance, and regulations.

Internal Funding

Faculty and students can apply for funding through the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. The Office of the Provost provides funds for internal seed grants for faculty and travel funds for students.
